After years of working with major brands, Carey noticed a gap: “Most beach jewelry at favorite coastal shops was either too souvenir-like or lacked the quality and everyday wearability people truly wanted.” the beach and back was born to fill that space—elevated, timeless designs rooted in coastal life.
Even the name carries deep meaning. Inspired by a gift from her best friend—a coffee mug printed with the phrase “I love you to the beach and back”—she instantly knew it captured her lifelong tradition of returning to the coast. “It felt like the perfect way to express both my love for the shore and the lasting connections we carry from the places we cherish most.”
Running a small business is always a journey, but one moment stood out most to Carey. “My son filled out a school questionnaire and, in response to ‘Who in your life seems to have the coolest job?’ he answered, ‘my mom, she owns her own business.’ That moment really made me proud to be setting an example for my kids about entrepreneurship, hard work, and following your passion.”
