This workshop is led by the soil-building and composting experts at weCompost2, a nonprofit organization dedicated to fighting accelerated climate change by promoting on-site composting; cultivating vibrant communities in and above the soil – creating resilient societies and regenerative environments.

The workshop begins with a fun composting game, followed by a deep dive into the proverbial vermicomposting worm hole. Kids of all ages are guided through questions and hands-on activities designed to spark curiosity and develop problem-solving skills.

Each participant will build their own mini experimental worm bin, which they can color, customize, and take home. The bin comes complete with two live worms and the challenge of maintaining the bin until the worm population doubles (approximately three months).

Upon completion, students will be recognized as Certified Worm Farmers and welcomed as new volunteers into the coolest nonprofit on the planet – weCompost2. Their first task as volunteers will be to promote onsite composting by sharing a photo of their worm bin with family and friends.
