Quay Figures is a clothing brand with the mission of providing clothing for women that is functional, flattering, and designed for women who move, lead, and build—on land or at sea. Our ethos is empowering women through what they wear.
The founder worked on deck in the maritime industry, and did so for 6 years. It is a very physically demanding job of maintaining the exterior of motor yachts and sailing yachts. With its hard work also came an incredible opportunity that takes crew around the world. But one thing always remained frustrating, the uniform on board these mega yachts was shocking. Ill-fitting, unflattering, and not right for the job. Most of the shorts don’t even have functional pockets—if you are a woman reading this I’m sure you can imagine the frustration.
In this traditionally male dominated industry we wanted the women to look cool, feel confident, and move easily. We looked for shorts in big brand stores and still couldn’t find shorts that were cute and functional. Store after store they would have racks of shorts for men and in most cases the product offering for females was inadequate—unattractive and not fit for purpose.
We have created a brand that designs and makes shorts just for women. A collection that we would happily wear at work or on land. We offer a range of shorts that are made from recycled polyester quick drying fabrics, a high-waist deign, and functional pockets that even have zippers. We didn’t want to leave out our engineering sisters so we also offer a coverall designed just for the female form.
Quay Figures was designed for the maritime industry but can be applied for women everywhere.
