Katrina’s work experience has focused on children, families, parenting, school, treatment of adults, psychiatric assessments & trauma.
Personal experience as an unexpectedly solo parent & then ovarian cancer survivor may help others moving through new difficult situations.
Katrina is committed to work with older teens (age 16+), young adults & individuals, to help move through present difficult circumstances to a more secure, confident, calm state of mind and being.
Practice focuses on treatment of those feeling disruption due to mental health, trauma, relationship & adjustment issues.
A felt sense of safety, then insight, personal accountability, problem-solving, perspective-taking & encouragement are large parts of making progress toward change. Humor and discussion of relative current events are woven into sessions.
Katrina includes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) elements, Polyvagal Theory, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Parent Management Training (PMT), Trauma-Focused CBT (TF-CBT), Mindfulness, and Brief Solution-Focused Therapy in treatment sessions.
