Lilla Barn—Swedish for “little child”—encapsulates the essence of childhood: hopeful, bold, and free-spirited. Our clothing channels that carefree energy, from hands-in-the-air sliding-down-a-slide movement to bright, expressive prints that turn heads—preserving individuality while nurturing fun.

Founded in 2011 by Bergen Anderson, Lilla Barn began when Bergen—expecting her first child—grew frustrated with the pastel, stereotypical baby clothes she saw everywhere. A lifelong maker, she started sewing her own bright, bold pieces and never stopped.

Rooted in Scandinavian design and inspired by Bergen’s Swedish and Norwegian heritage, as well as time spent living in both Sweden and Norway, our aesthetic blends clean lines with bold, joyous patterns. We create clothing for babies, kids, and adults, because color, comfort, and self-expression know no age limit. Our collections are designed to move with you—whether you’re crawling, climbing, or simply strolling to your favorite coffee shop.

More than just clothes, Lilla Barn is a slow-fashion ethos in motion. Each piece is thoughtfully crafted using organic and sustainable textiles, designed to last through adventures, from preschool mornings to ice-cream-covered afternoons. Many items are hand-stitched in our Studio + Shop in Chicago by Bergen and her small team, while the rest are sourced with care from women- and queer-owned small businesses.

We believe in color equity—all colors are for all people—and aim to create space for gender-inclusive self-expression. Our clothes are not just worn; they make a statement, create memories, and pass along from one person to the next.
