Changemakers Education is a progressive, student-centered tutoring organization that provides highly individualized, all-virtual, private tutoring in reading, spelling, writing, math, and social-emotional learning. We specialize in working with neurodivergent students, including those with dyslexia, dyscalculia, and ADHD as well as autistic students. We are proud to offer accessible, affirming instruction rooted in research-based methods. Our work is driven by a deep belief in educational equity and a commitment to meeting each learner where they are.
Our team of experienced educators is trained in structured, multisensory approaches like Orton Gillingham and Multisensory Math. These evidence-based strategies are paired with trauma-informed, strengths-focused teaching that empowers students to see themselves as capable and intelligent, especially those who have been marginalized or misunderstood in traditional classrooms. Our students see rapid growth because they are finally getting access to approaches that match their learning needs, all in a safe and student-centered environment.
At Changemakers, progressive values are not just a philosophy. They’re woven into the fabric of everything we do. We are proudly neurodivergent-affirming and inclusive of LGBTQ+ communities. We are an LGBTQ+-owned and woman-owned practice. We work with families of all kinds and support learners from diverse racial, cultural, and linguistic backgrounds. Our programs intentionally reject ableist and one-size-fits-all approaches to education in favor of adaptive, responsive teaching that respects the whole child.
We offer both one-on-one tutoring and small group enrichment experiences, including writing intensives, academic summer camps such as fraction camps, and social-emotional learning groups that affirm students’ identities and build community. All instruction is conducted virtually, expanding access for families across the U.S., especially those who may lack qualified local supports.
We also believe in transparency, collaboration, and justice, not just in how we teach, but in how we do business. Changemakers pays our tutors fairly, respects families’ time, and creates systems that reflect our care for both students and the adults who support them. We actively seek feedback from families and adapt our offerings to meet evolving needs, including offering summer camps and school-year support for homeschooling families.
In a world where so many learners are left behind or pushed to fit a mold, Changemakers is building something different: an inclusive, liberatory model of education where every student is met with dignity, skill, and joy.
