Claudia Akers is the heart and hands behind Fig & Grove, a small-batch soap, candle, and skincare brand inspired by nature and grounded in care. A retired wedding and portrait photographer turned soaper, Claudia pours her creativity into crafting tallow skincare, essential oil soaps, and clean-burning candles, each one made by hand with thoughtful, simple ingredients. Earthy, a little elegant, and deeply rooted in the wild beauty of the Sierra Nevada foothills, Fig & Grove reflects her belief that what we put on our skin (and into the world) should come from nature, not a lab.
Claudia discovered Little Blue Cart during one of the hardest seasons of her life: a time of uncertainty, fear, and disconnection. Finding a community of like-minded makers and shoppers gave her something she hadn’t felt in a long time: hope. She joined the Little Blue Market to stand with others who share her values, use creativity as resistance, and prove that even in dark times, small acts of care can spark meaningful change.
