Outside the Knot is a one-woman-operation working to spark joy with crochet plushies & patterns!

Here’s the facts:
– Each plushie is handmade by me. No drop shipping, no reselling.
– Since it’s handmade, each piece is unique even if it’s using the same pattern.
– All the patterns I use are either made by myself or other individual creators – no big box massed produced kits.

The History
In April 2022, I was working in the FinTech industry as a computer scientist. I was employed at a major bank and it sucked the life out of me. I was looking for a de-stress craft and kept seeing crochet videos on Instagram of someone making giant food plushies. I’ve always been a crafty person, so I gave it a shot and made a very bad sea turtle. From there, I launched my business in June 2022. I started going to markets in October 2022.  I’ve scaled up my business to also have a small table in a store front, The Maker and Merchant Tampa, since June 2023. My business is now in a transition period. Crochet is still the passion, but I’ve been branching out to do more patterns instead and am also looking into incorporating other crafts.
