Hello!
We are a very small business that makes backpacking gear.
We make it ourselves, in Norfolk, VA.
It is primarily accessory-type gear for long-distance hikers, or thru-hikers, but everyone will understand how useful our gear is!

In preparation for thru-hiking the AT and the PCT, I spent countless hours looking at gear options, material options, etc., and really became somewhat obsessed with backpacking gear.
When I got home from the PCT, I wanted to try my hand at making a better fanny pack for backpackers than anyone was offering at the time.
That product, the Summit Bum, really helped gain some recognition and make a little name for ourselves in the outdoor industry.
Every time I hear, “My Summit Bum was my favorite piece of gear the whole trip!” it makes me just as excited as the first time I heard it.
I am a thru-hiker, I’ve been there. I know how significant our gear is.

We want people to know we are strongly opposed to the Trump regime and have been routinely alienating MAGA from our business with posts on Threads and other socials, and that has actually been helping get positive attention from good customers.
We do not want to see our gear on anybody who supports MAGA cruelty or buffoonery. I would love to be able to trust that when I see Thrupack gear in the wild, it’s a person we align with.
